Shaivi is a Futurist, UXer and “Planet-centric Designer”, a role she has assigned herself amidst the increasing need for designers to inculcate non-human actants in design and be mindful of the impact of their design decisions. Shaivi’s work at the Royal College of Art reflects her intentions of unearthing the intrinsic potential of the human mind impending the crucial race against time to save the planet, one idea, one action at a time. With an academic background of BDes in UX Design and MDes in Design Futures, Shaivi now embarks on starting her professional practice. One that is envisioned to be pivoted around emerging technologies, mapping different facets of the future, re-defining strategies and research practices backed by futures methodologies. Wherever you see her next, her core of “for the people and the planet” drives her actions and intentions.

A philomath, Shaivi likes to invest her time towards pursuing her natural curiosities. An avid reader and nature enthusiast. Stories big and brief, from Kabira to Bagheera, all hugely appeal to her. Shaivi shares that, Compassion and communication according to her are much more valuable than compatibility and conviction. She strongly believes that observing the nonverbals, is a precious tool when it comes to understanding our users. Human psychology and how the mind works often intrigues her. Ohh and yes, Dogs are her favourite living beings!
